Aarambha College in Bharatpur, Chitwan, has once again achieved outstanding results in the Bachelor of Information Technology Management (BITM) and Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM) programs. Continuing its tradition of excellence from previous years, the college has secured first and second place in the Chitwan district.
In the second semester examinations (Batch 2024) conducted by Tribhuvan University, three students from Aarambha College have brought glory to the institution with their remarkable performance.
In BITM, student Sejal Khadge secured first place in Chitwan district with an impressive 3.84 SGPA. Another BITM student, Saurav Poudel, became the second topper in the district with 3.76 SGPA.
In BHM, student Sabin Shrestha secured second place in Chitwan with a 3.83 SGPA.
College Principal Suraj Shivakoti informed that Aarambha College had previously achieved fifth, fourth, and third positions at the national level in BHM under Tribhuvan University. Last year, Sabin Shrestha secured first place in Chitwan and third place in Nepal, with a 3.98 SGPA in the first semester. Similarly, BITM student Sejal Khadge had also secured the district's first position last year with a 3.84 SGPA.
In the college's founding year, BHM student Ngawang Bomjan Tamang secured fifth place in Nepal and first in Chitwan with a 3.92 SGPA. In the second semester, she secured fourth place in Nepal and second in Chitwan, with a 3.94 SGPA.
Principal Shivakoti stated that Aarambha College has become the first choice for students and parents due to its unique teaching style and clear objectives since its establishment. The four-year undergraduate program comprises eight semesters, with two per year.
Students who have secured at least a D grade (1.8 GPA) in SEE can easily enroll in the college after completing class 12 and passing the CMAT examination. The principal expressed that the college is now focused on helping students secure gold medals by becoming top performers at Tribhuvan University.
Principal Shivakoti informed that the final two semesters of the BHM program include internship requirements. Aarambha College has already signed an agreement with a Nepali company that collaborates with a firm providing internship opportunities in 43 five-star hotels in America.
Department Head of BHM Dipendra Subedi stated that the college is steadily improving its results and moving toward becoming the top performer at Tribhuvan University. He claimed that, given the current trend, achieving first place at TU is easily possible in the coming days.
Department Head of BITM, Jhabilal Bhusal, mentioned that BITM students have secured the district's first position in the establishment year, last year, and this year as well, showing strong potential to achieve top positions at TU in the future. He informed that, in addition to the TU curriculum, Aarambha College also teaches subjects such as Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, and Machine Learning.
Aarambha College is affiliated with Tribhuvan University and offers BITM and BHM programs under the Faculty of Management. The college has permission to enroll 66 students in BHM and 66 in BITM, for a total of 132 students.
The college began its services in Bhadra 2080 BS at Bharatpur Metropolitan City Ward No. 11, near Naharchowk. It was established in 2079 BS by five education enthusiasts from Chitwan and five from Kathmandu. The individuals involved in the college's management and operation have over two decades of experience in the education sector. The teachers are also experienced and energetic.
Principal Shivakoti believes that the BITM and BHM programs will fully equip students with the skills, knowledge, and abilities needed for success in technology and hotel management. He expressed confidence that providing practical, theoretical, and internationally relevant skills will make the institution a key option for industries in the region and help establish Chitwan's educational leadership.
The excellent results achieved by students at Aarambha College have expanded the institution's recognition and brought satisfaction to parents.
In the college's first year, BHM student Ngawang Bomjan Tamang secured a 3.92 GPA and became the district topper, achieving fifth position nationally. Principal Shivakoti stated that this achievement helped elevate Aarambha's reputation.
Other BHM students also performed well in the first semester: Nebika Mainali secured second position in the district with a 3.91 GPA, Ojaswi Acharya scored 3.81 GPA, Angita Adhikari 3.78 GPA, Sandhya Gole 3.75 GPA, and Arsiya Banu 3.69 GPA. Parents have expressed happiness with these results.
Aarambha College spreads across a five-story building covering 10,000 square feet, with all classrooms fully air-conditioned. Another building of similar size is also available. The college has seminar halls, labs, and a library. Principal Shivakoti informed that plans are underway to construct futsal, basketball, and swimming facilities. Efforts are also being made at the local and international levels for internship opportunities.
Principal Shivakoti said, "The college's goal is 'earn while you learn.' The current era is one of management combined with information technology. Therefore, Aarambha College has emerged as an opportunity for students."
Surendra Subedi, chairperson of Aarambha College's operating committee, is also the principal of Kathmandu Model College. He claimed that Aarambha College provides education through a blend of attitude, skill, and knowledge. He stated that the college was established in Bharatpur so that students seeking higher education in Chitwan do not have to go to Kathmandu or abroad. He informed that alongside academic and moral aspects, the college has also prioritized sports, literature, and creative programs for students' intellectual and physical development under extracurricular activities.
Aarambha College emphasizes collaboration with wards, rural municipalities, municipalities, and metropolitan cities for scholarship provisions. The college stated that scholarships specified by local bodies are fully implemented. Principal Shivakoti mentioned that the college is committed to promoting self-employment through effective education within the country. He informed that the college provides counseling to parents about the mental stress of sending children abroad for education.
The college has arranged specialized labs for BITM and BHM students and continues to provide subject-specific training and guidance.
As the Chitwan district is emerging as a health and tourism hub, Aarambha College aims to develop it as an educational hub as well. The college has been partnering with relevant stakeholder organizations and employers. Principal Shivakoti informed that Aarambha College has so far partnered with Idea Studio, Lead X Nepal, Fourth Valley Consize, and the Robotics Association of Nepal. He stated, "Aarambha College is contributing to making Chitwan an IT hub and tourism hub."
Aarambha College teaches students in air-conditioned classrooms using digital boards to present learning materials. The college has arranged bus services for students coming from distant areas. As classes are conducted in the morning shift, students who wish to work in the afternoon are connected with subject-related organizations for income generation, following the "earn while you learn" motto.
The college has established the Aarambha Innovation Hub, where students have formed 13 groups and are conducting various programs to strengthen their learning. Under Aarambha Idea Station, a one-day program was organized to announce Safe Santosh Sah as the college's brand ambassador. Under the Aarambha Entrepreneurs Forum, a program on "Creating Startup Culture" was organized in collaboration with the Chitwan Industries Association.
